Full & Partial Dentures

For comfortable, natural and realistic dentures, get in touch with the team at Belmont & Cooranbong Denture Clinics. Operating since 1981, we can provide custom dentures to patients in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. We treat every patient with the utmost care, going above and beyond to ensure you are comfortable with your new dentures.

A full denture is required when a patient has lost all of their natural teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Whether it’s due to tooth decay, injury or gum disease, the loss of your natural teeth can significantly impact your ability to talk and eat. A full denture can function just like your natural teeth, allowing you to chew and pronunciate as normal, as well as provide support for the facial muscles around the mouth.

A partial denture is suitable for patients who have one or a few missing teeth. They are used to fill in gaps left by missing teeth and can prevent the surrounding natural teeth from becoming crooked.

Implant Retained Dentures

Dentures are made from creating an impression of your mouth, so that the dentures can fit seamlessly along your jaw. Using advanced dental technology and equipment, our dental prosthetists are able to make all dentures in-house and provide adjustments to ensure they are comfortable. The teeth can also be shaped and painted so that they appear natural.

We can also provide implant retained dentures, which offers better ability to eat and enjoy foods such as steak, raw fruits and vegetables. Unlike regular dentures, implant retained dentures involves installing a bio-compatible metal rod inside the jawbone. Our dental prosthetist will firstly take an x-ray scan to determine whether the implant will be suitable for you. Once the implant is complete, it can take anywhere between 2 and 4 months for the implant to fuse with your jawbone, and the denture is then screwed on for added security.

If you are unsure of which type of denture best suits your needs, give us a call today to book in an appointment.

Denture Maintenance

Just like your natural teeth, you should also clean your dentures twice a day, brushing it carefully and rinsing it under running water to remove debris. We recommend removing your dentures before sleep every night and soaking them in water or a denture solution to keep them moist.

Most dentures will also require a reline every 2 years as the lining can degrade over time, causing discomfort and pain. For your convenience, we offer same-day services for all denture relines and repairs, so you never have to go a day without your denture.
